In an effort to support a just economy within the fashion industry, Joséfa David believes in providing a fair and living wage to all those involved in the creation of our products. In our commitment to ethical practices, we provide complete pay transparency as listed below.
Our models are paid between 50$ to 150$ by the hour depending on their experience.
Each photoshoot session per model may last at least 4 hours.
Our contracts authorize us to use their photographs for a year.
Our marketing team of one person is paid $25 American dollars by the hour, the Canadian equivalent of 32,50$.
We need Sarah for at least 12 hours every month.
Marketing trends are constantly changing and we are always looking for new and engaging ways to reach our customers.
Quite often Joséfa is sewing your products by hand and will pay herself 20$ an hour.
When Joséfa is working as the photographer she does not pay herself. Joséfa is skilled in editing photos and takes the time and effort to assure that her images represent the beauty of her vision.
Joséfa draws all of her designs by hand and inspired by the beauty she sees around her. A small % of the product sold is used to pay for the research of the print but she does not pay herself a wage.
A % on each product sold is the profit which in turn allows us to stays in business and reinvest in the company.
Every product we sell involves the use of other additional resources including:
- Fabric and Materials
An essential portion of the price is used to cover to cost of the sustainable and ethically printed fabric and materials needed to produce our products.
A very small % of each item sold is used to pay for our professional camera equipment lighting and editing software.
A very small % of each item sold is used to pay back our electricity use in our studio every month.
A very small % of each item sold is used to pay back the cost of our studio every month.
A very small % of each item sold is used to pay back the maintenance on our equipment such as sewing machines, cameras, and electronics.
A small % of each item sold is used to pay back the cost of the machines used in the production of your product such as laser cutters and computers.
A very small % of each item sold is used to pay back the cost of website maintenance fees.
A very small % on each item sold is used for the advertising cost of our business - this helps by getting our brand known/ provide visibility to the public.
